LOC on Flickr

I really love the Library of Congress website: http://www.loc.gov
I can get stuck looking through the HABS and American Memory photographs for hours, if I let myself. And yeas, I posted about this before (over HERE).

But, I just noticed they have a Flickr account. They are "offering two sets of digitized photos: the 1,600 color images from the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information and about 1,500 images from the George Grantham Bain News Service".

Bransby, David, photographer.
-Woman aircraft worker, Vega Aircraft Corporation, Burbank, Calif.
-Shown checking electrical assemblies
-1942 June

Check out the rest over HERE (the 1930s-40s in Color group is my favorite).

Holy crap that is awesome. I am 3/4 of the way through "America's Women" by Gail Collins (and it is FABULOUS), and I've just gotten past the war years. The working women photos are amazing!
