Boats, Boats, Birds...

.

This past weekend Brooks and I took the boat out in the Atchafalaya Basin on an overcast day. I finally saw a Pileated Woodpecker and we heard a few Wood Thrushes and Prothonotary Warblers. We went out a couple hours before a storm and made it back about 2 minutes before the downpour, just barely really:

Tuesday a group of us went out to White Lake WCA south of Gueydan, LA for the day. Ornithologist for WLF Michael Seymour gave a talk, we had lunch, birded around the little island, then took a tour in vintage mud boats...a really fun day.

To the mud boats...
