Last Minute Dress Options...

Do you ever do this? You have something to go to, and although you save dress ideas for a month or so prior, it ends up being the day before the function and you still haven't bought a dress. Then, sometimes, you get the dress the day before, then the day of you start to rethink your choice. I may be going out again in a bit...

I had been saving images on the computer of dresses, or parts of dresses, that I liked. Some examples....

I liked the fuller waist of these...


The puff and banded sleeves and buttons of the green, and the darted midriff in the black...




I will always love the 1940s wrap dress and Diane Von Furstenberg always has nice examples of that....


Love this Diane Von Furstenberg too, espeically the back...


I love the fitted or banded midriff (or buttoned bodice, puffs below the bustline) of the 1940s/50s too...


And I adore 1940s bolero dresses more than any of the rest.
These are both vintage, and the original plan was to buy one and have it altered...




But that isn't possible the day before....
.

So, I found a peacock blue dress that has some of the elements of all of the above, more or less.

Jacquard 100% silk dotted pattern, with deeper v-neck, banded fitted midriff with button accent, gathers below bustline, slightly puffed sleeves with banded button accents, a fuller waistline (teetering on empire), and hidden onseam pockets.

I bought a little tiny cropped short sleeve jacket to wear with it too, b/c it got really cold here over the weekend..



And the back of the dress is very nice (similar to the DVF one above a bit)..
