Last week I saw this Eurasian Collared Dove perched in the Magnolia Tree and watched him fly down to eat some of the seeds on the ground near the feeder for a minute or two. It is the only one I have ever seen in the backyard. It is a monstrously large bird compared to the Mourning Doves, which are relatively large backyard feeder birds.
He came back today and I got to watch and photograph him for a bit. He bullied the Red Wing Blackbirds and the Mourning Doves, but didn't run them off completely. A really pretty bird regardless...
