From yesterday...

.

Just some digital shots from yesterday...

The Lake at 5 p.m.

.

The largest droplet of water I have ever seen on an Elephant Ear in the lake:

.

Tiny Cleo being brave on the porch:

.

Angel Trumpets down the street..

.

One of my favorite 1920s/30s Colonials in the neighborhood with further evidence of gutting and severe yard work. I wish it wasn't getting this overhaul:

.

The same house about 8 months ago b/f renovations began..when the yard looked wild and overgrown and you could barely find the stairs leading to the house and it was just so perfect that way:

I've been meaning to comment on all the great shots of your locale. I live in Northern California and have never been to the South, your pictures of Louisiana have really intrigued me. I just recently discovered that some of my relatives are from LA. The Datura are amazing! They don't look as comfortable here.
Oh yeah, I love your blog, I check it daily.

DEER DOMINIQUE-

Thank you! California is beautiful. I have only been to the Los Angeles area though, but would really love to travel through the whole state sometime.

Where in Louisiana is your family located? You should come down for a visit...October and March are probably the most comfortable months to visit. :)

Oh, to have a lake by the garden. It´s probably naive to ask this, but you can´t swim there, do you? Beautiful pics as always!

LILLIAN-

No, no swimming. :)

It's not really a lake appropriate for swimming (leeches and water moccasins etc.)...but I do enjoy the ducks and egrets and turtles. And, I think I just always have enjoyed being close to water, be it a pond, lake, river, ocean..
