Another (hopefully the last) Hurricane Update...

It's Friday and I am still without internet. I spoke to the cable company today and they have no idea when it will be restored. However, I am once again on a friend's computer printing the last of the shipping labels that will help me catch up with orders over the weekend. I am not caught up on emails yet...please give me a few more days to respond.

Once again, I am eternally grateful for the help and offers of help from a couple of New England girls (Thank you, Sarah and Jenn--you two are the best), and the patience and support of day-lab customers-you all are the best too. (P.S. Thanks, Deborah B. for the amazing Amsterdam junk store postcard...it is priceless and it totally made my day). :)

I managed to snap some before and after pictures of the driveway situation which caused my car to be trapped in the garage for 10 days. In the end it was me and my chain saw happy neighbor who finally removed the tree debris and cleared the driveway.

Right after the storm settled, looking at the garage:

And the opposite view down the driveway to the street:

After several days of sawing, removing, and raking: same views as above:

During Monday of Hurricane Gustav my hummingbird family of 3 became a hummingbird family of 30+. It was the most bizarre and wonderful thing to witness.

Some pictures of the backyard hummingbirds:

Most of the plants in the front yard were smashed/smothered/damaged. I was able to save a few though. The backyard had less damage, but more downed tree limbs etc.
Other Hurricane Gustav week pictures of the plants that did very well during the storm..
