This week we needed to find a desk for a second computer we are setting up in the office. We opted for an older 80's industrial laminate office desk, not because it was handsome (b/c it's not), but rather because it was $5.00 at the Salvation Army and very very sturdy.
On the way home in the car a couple of the drawers opened..and out flew a strange rubber contraption. We could only speculate what it was during the ride home, b/c we couldn't reach into the back to grab it. At first I thought it was a rubber nursing bra, which I am not sure is a thing that actually exists. Then I had a memory of these bizarre contraptions from an old Montgomery Wards 1938 Catalog...a Womb Supporter, which I thought it had to be:

.
After we got home, we were shocked to find that it was actually an old Gas Mask:

A pretty neat hidden find.
.
We have some new backyard friends also.
It is a family of Raccoons, 1 mama and 4 babies.
The other night all 5 were out, but my camera had no batteries. The next night we left out some leftover sushi, strawberries, and cantaloupe..and only the mama came out:

Hopefully I will be able to get some shots of the babies. They are the cutest things ever.
