I have been in love with California Pottery from the 20's to the 60's these days. I just received a fantastic book last week: Jack Chipman's Collector's Encyclopedia of California Pottery
I really do love the majority of it, regardless of style or pottery company, but I am partial to animal figurines for some reason.
Some highlights.....
Brad Keeler, a favorite of mine, made some of the most fantastic bird figurines before his death at age thirty-nine in 1952. His company folded a short time after in 1953, after a short lived attempt by his wife Catherine, to keep it afloat.
Some images from the book of Keeler's birds:

I am in possession of two ceramic pieces of ducks in flight by brad keller. They are dated 1925. I was wondering if you may know of their value and if it was a mass produced items. I noticed that one has a lowstiens partial sticker still on the bottom. Just trying to research the history on them. You can email a reply to wdmathisiv@aol.com if you have time. please put attn dorsey in the heading. Thanks and have a great day. dorsey mathis in memphis
